The gospel industry is once again buzzing about one of this country’s premier gospel recording artists, Johnny Sanders. His debut CD “Lifetime” and hit single “I Trust God” became an anthem for the church and continues to bless audiences worldwide! “I Trust God” (Johnny Sanders) was a 2005 Stellar Award Finalist in three categories and 2005 Grammy Award Finalist in four categories. Both Johnny’s first single, “I Trust God” and second single “Because of You” spent significant time on Billboard’s Top Gospel Chart and on the R&R Chart. He continues to be a sought-after artist for concerts, conferences, tours and other special events. He was a featured performer at Bishop T.D. Jakes’ First Annual Mega Fest! Now Johnny’s new hit single “Long To Know You” from his sophomore CD “God Said” is sweeping the radio airwaves. Distributed nationally by New Day Christian Distribution, “God Said” is receiving rave review; comprised of powerful message songs, “God Said” speaks to the hope, protection and provision we are afforded as joint heirs with Jesus!
Johnny Sanders is a young man filled with excitement and energy, which surface when he is electrifying audiences with his powerful, melodic voice. Not just an exceptional singer, Johnny holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from Miami Dade College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Humanities & Public Relations/Communications from Florida International University and a Certificate in Theology, Associate of Science Degree from The Interdenominational Theology Center of Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to that he has done continued graduate working in Marketing, Advertising and Broadcast Journalism. Johnny has worked in the field of entertainment programming, marketing and advertising for more than 15 years. He has served as guest host on a number of local, national and international radio & TV shows, and is currently a TV Host/Field Reporter for the Word Cable Network. Millions view him weekly worldwide.
Johnny has toured nationally, as well as internationally, performing in Africa, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and the Caribbean. He has also graced the stage with countless International stars of both stage and screen. Johnny’s television appearances includes, TBN’s Praise the Lord program, B.E.T.’s Bobby Jones Gospel, The Word Network, “Singsation”, The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors and a cable-TV special entitled, “We Remember Jesus”. His stage appearances include Bernadine Bush’s “You Haven’t Heard Me Till Now,” and his own productions: “Truly Christmas” and “Talent Fit For A King”. He has also toured nationally with Michael Matthew’s hit gospel stage plays, “Secret Lover,” “Sugar Daddy,” “Listen To Your Woman,” and “Money Can’t Buy You Love,” in addition to being featured vocalist on the shows’ sound tracks. Johnny co-starred in Malik Yoba’s Hit Gospel stage play “What’s On the Hearts of Men” and made his national Directorial debut and starred in Vision of Talent Productions’ stage play “Life Behind The Mask”. Johnny also starred in and served as Assistant Director for Walter Rutledge’s Holiday Production, “Soulful Noel” and most recently in Cookie Wiggins hit gospel stage play “U Got Me Bent & Twisted”. He is currently in featured in the Gospel Stage Play “Mahalia” where he showcases both his phenomenal musical and acting abilities. The production is slated to tour later this year.
Having an eye and ear for talent, Johnny has served as the South Florida Audition Coordinator for Michael Matthew’s stage plays, Malik Yoba’s stage play, Vision of Talent Productions stage play and Walter Rutledge’s “Soulful Noel”. He has also served as Talent Show Assistant Coordinator for Miami-Dade County’s Employee Showcase, and served on a distinguished panel of Judge’s for “Showtime at the Apollo” Kid’s Talent Search. Johnny sits on the Executive Board of the Diaspora Arts Coalition, in addition to belonging to various organizations including: the Florida Gospel Announcer Guild and Gospel Music Workshop of America (Miami Chapter). He has also recorded with The African American Unity Choir, “LIVE in Trento, Italy”; “Living Waters”, Min. Eddie Robinson and the Voices of South Florida and Michael Canitrot “So Happy In Paris” (France). Johnny has just returned for his 8th European Tour and is currently making plans for his first LIVE recording as a solo artist, schedule for Summer/Fall 2010.
